Blast from the Past ~ Rise and Shine

January 2019

I just found this post. Yes, mornings are a little difficult for me. They still are but my morning routine somehow has changed a little since the best husband (Jeremy Clarkson voice) in the world has gone self-employed. But I do not get into details here ๐Ÿ™‚ sorry!

August 2014

Do you rise and shine?

I don’t. I crawl out of bed and growl if anyone dares to speak to me before a cup of tea or coffee. My preferred way of getting up is before everybody else, meditate, write morning pages and have breakfast. Then (maybe) I am ready to face the world and my fellow human beings as I have recovered my human form from my wolfish one ;-).

That also counts for the beginning of the week. I usually have Monday’s off, which suits me to the dot as my husband works earlies and the kids live with their mother. A whole morning for myself with nothing to care about. Brilliant.

Today though I might have overdone a bit. The husband had to work at 4 am and left the house at three. I had a crazy dream and woke up when he kissed me goodbye. That is a really, really nice way of waking up, but I could not go back to sleep.

“OK!” I thought “let’s take the week and the day by the horns (sorry this might be some German that crawled into my writing ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) and get going”. So I did my morning routine + the Monday extras and wrote like mad. I baked a bread, cleaned the bathroom, washed clothes and cleaned the dishes. It is now 10 am and I am tired and could go to bed.

But I shine, you know :-). With 5 hours delay, I actually managed to be in a social state and happy to see all of you come for a peek and a cup of tea or coffee. I even offer a piece of cottage bread……
